Nelson Fields shares his journey toward self-love and acceptance, discussing growing up in Georgetown, Kentucky and realizing his sexuality, yet feeling pressured to deny it due to religious and familial forces. Fields shares how he was in and out of the closet, married then eventually divorced before accepting his sexual identity, rediscovering his spirituality, and finding peace with his family. Fields also discusses in great detail his love for theater, costuming, and the positive role that the Fine Arts Building and Theatre & Dance Department at the University Kentucky played in his life.
